From the Desert to the River

We needed to travel the road before we could travel the waters

The journey of a thousand miles was missing the first step: I had to get from Arizona to Oregon and the boat! Life sometimes seems to take its time when all you want to do is get things done quickly. If you read the last post, you know that the original invite was back in July 2012 - the journey to Oregon didn't happen for me until May 2014!

The delay was due to Dovid dealing with going to court over back pay in Louisiana. If you know law suits, you know it takes a LOT of time to get things done! Between that and my lack of funds to leave, we had our work cut out for us!

We did work it all out after Dovid got his settlement and I had saved a bit from the part time job that I had taken. I flew to Louisiana and then we drove from there to Oregon. The plan was coming together!

Stay tuned for how our first summer at the marina went!

Thanks for coming along!

Hi! My name is Niccolea Miouo Nance.  I am a poet, artist, amateur fire-spinner, and soon to be world traveler via sailboat. I love learning new things and challenging myself (hence this project). Above all else, I love to enjoy life and be spontaneous.

Below are links to press regarding the sailing trip around the world. Plus, a local Portland, OR TV station may pick it up as well. Stay tuned!
